What makes us Pentecostal
Pentecostal churches take their name from the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2, when the Holy Spirit filled the first disciples and they began to speak in other tongues. We believe that experience is for believers today. As an Assemblies of God church we hold four truths especially close:
- Salvation through faith in Jesus Christ
- The baptism in the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in tongues
- Divine healing, provided for in Christ’s atonement
- The second coming of Jesus for His Church
What a service is like
Our Sunday service runs from 8:00 to 10:30 AM. We begin with a long time of praise and worship in Malayalam and English — people clap, raise hands, kneel or simply stand quietly. There is prayer for the needs of the church, and then Pastor Tony Thomas preaches from the Bible.
You don’t need to know the songs or the customs. Come as you are; no one will single you out. If you’d like prayer, just let someone know.
